Round leaves up to 2 1/2" in diameter with scalloped edges. Small greenish-white flowers appear on separate stalks just as tall or taller than the leaves. Pennywort can spread across moist soil or form floating mats on the water surface. Mats can break apart and and form floating islands. Provides habitat for many micro and macro invertebrates.
